Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today reviewed the preparedness as weather department has predicted a cyclonic storm to hit the coast between Odisha and West Bengal.

Through a video conference, Pradhan discussed with IMD DG Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, NDRF DG Satyanarayan Pradhan and his Cabinet colleague and minister Pratap Sarangi over the possible cyclone Yaas. 

Through a series of tweets, Pradhan stated that he had a thorough discussion on the possible cyclone and preparedness made by the NDRF. 

NDRF is fully prepared to extend its full support and forces in post-cyclone relief and rescue operations, Pradhan said after discussing with the NDRF DG.

The government of India is well prepared to tackle the possible cyclone. “I will also discuss with the Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The cyclone would be tackled in coordination between the Odisha and the Central governments,” Pradhan stated through tweets, advising people not to get panic.

On the other hand, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will chair a review meeting with top State officials including chief secretary, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), DGP, Fire services DG and other senior officers in the afternoon today over the possible cyclone.

The chief secretary had also reviewed the preparedness yesterday and alerted the Collectors of all coastal districts
