Even as the cyclonic storm ‘Mandous’ is all set to trigger heavy to very heavy rainfall in several States, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday reiterated that the system will have no direct impact on Odisha.

The cyclonic storm “Mandous” pronounced as “ManDous” over Southwest Bay of Bengal is very likely to move west-northwestwards and cross north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts between Puducherry and Sriharikota with a maximum sustained wind speed of 65-75 kmph gusting to 85 kmph around mid night of December 9.

Meanwhile, IMD’s Regional Centre today predicted light to moderate rainfall in several parts of Odisha in the coming days.
