Bhubaneswar’s temperature may set a new record this year. This year’s temperature may surpass what was recorded in 1963. The weathermen have predicted so.
It is now mid-February, and the sultry weather condition being felt now indicates that the temperature may break the 40-year-old record.
In February 1963, Bhubaneswar had recorded 42.7 degrees Celsius which is an all-time high.
However, the weather department has predicted that the capital city may break its past record in 2023. The maximum temperature Bhubaneswar has so far recorded in the current month is 35.4 degree Celsius. And according to the IMD, there is no sign of any change in the present weather condition in the coming days.
While the day temperature is increasing, winter is about to bid adieu. However, winter is still there in some pockets of North Odisha.
“The maximum temperatures recorded at some places are 3 to 5 degrees more. Dry weather will prevail in the coming five days. Tomorrow, the city’s minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to be at 15 degrees and between 36 and 37 degree Celsius respectively,” informed H R Biswas, director, Regional Centre of India Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar.
These days, people are being seen taking precautions to avoid the scorching sun. While pedestrians are seen using umbrellas, cyclists are seen covering their faces with wet clothes.
