According to Dainik Bhaskar report, the bride's side alleged that the groom's side demanded dowry at the time of marriage. While the groom's side alleged that there was no dowry demand rather the bride’s family attacked them for reaching the shaadi mandap late.

The marrige of Vinay Kumar's daughter was fixed with a youth from Rishi Nagar of Hisar. The wedding was organised in Mandi Saiyan of Hansi. On the wedding day, the groom along with his baraat arrived for the marriage. However, before the pheras, a dispute broke out between the two families.

The bride and her father Vijay Kumar are alleging that the groom's side demanded Rs 5 lakh from them as dowry. But when Vijay Kumar expressed his inability to give them money, the groom’s family started quarreling.

They also allegedly ransacked the mandap and assaulted the bride’s family, injuring the girl's maternal uncles Deepak and Dharmendra.

On the other hand, the groom's father Mani Ram speaking to Dainik Bhaskar over phone said that the baraatis got late due to singing and dancing. Due to this, they had an argument with the bride’s family.  Following which, the bride's brother called some people from Puthi Mangal village and attacked them.

Mani Ram said that many people from his side have been hurt in the attack and undergoing treatment in the general hospital of Hisar.

Meanwhile, police reached the spot after receiving information about the dowry demand. However, there has been no official complaint in the matter. Police will take further action after receiving a written complaint, said Station in-charge Krishna Kumar.
