Wedding feast turns into fighting arena over denial of extra ‘papad’
Indian weddings are incomplete without some drama apart from celebrations, decorations, music, and dance. A mass brawl during a wedding is not something one would expect. However, a wedding feast in Kerala turned into a disaster after the groom’s friends were denied extra papad.
According to Onmanorama report, the incident took place in Kerala‘s Alappuzha city. Chaotic scenes were witnessed at a wedding after the servers at the function did not pay heed to the request of the groom’s friends.
The issue triggered a verbal altercation which soon snowballed into a full-blown fight after which chairs, tables and shoes were also thrown at each other.
A video of the brawl surfaced on social media in which the guests can be seen fighting insanely in a hall and smacking utensils at each other.
The clip was shared on Twitter by a user who wrote, “In the great 100 per cent literate state of Kerala, a fist fight broke out at a wedding after friends of the bridegroom demanded papad during the feast.”
Since being shared, the video has garnered hilarious reactions from netizens. One user wrote, “Thappads for pappads at a Kerala wedding.” Another enquired, “So much tamasha just for Papad ?”
A third user wrote, “In Kerala they take their papads seriously. So seriously they get into a Royal Rumble in a second.” Another user wrote, “WWE for papad ! By the way who won the brawl ! And biggest question where is da papad da !”
