Street dog leads herd of cattle away from lion in Indian village, watch

Lion is fierce and strong and resides in the forest. Primarily, wild animals depend on nature for food and shelter. However, with the growing human encroachment in the forest, climatic conditions and scarcity of food, the wild animals venture into the human settlement in search of food. 

Lions venturing into human settlements are quite a common sight in villages close to Gir National Park in Gujarat. Even reports of lions hunting livestock are normal. However, have you ever seen a street dog saving the lives of a herd of cattle from a lion?

As seen in the video, a herd of frightened cattle is running desperately on a village road. Meanwhile, a dog is seen chasing the herd while barking. Looking back, the dog impatiently continues to bark. And another figure is seen approaching the dog from the dark. 

As the dark figure comes close, the dog runs away to the other side while continuing to bark. 

A lion emerges from the darkness and continues to run behind the herd of cattle. As it seems, the dog leads the herd of cattle away from the lion.
