A woman scooter rider in Indonesia seemingly fled the scene after hitting a pedestrian. The video of the incident has now gone viral on social media, sparking a flurry of reactions including outrage.

CCTV footage showcased a woman causing a pedestrian to fall hard onto the ground after hitting her from the front. Though the scooter rider stopped for a few seconds, she rode away leaving the injured on the street.

The video quickly spread online, sparking widespread concerns and debate. Social media users were quick to angrily question why the woman drove away instead of parking by and checking if she had caused any serious injuries.

“Heartless” and “That's so wrong of her,” were quickly commented below the viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by a page. However, the clip also found “papa ki pari” mentions, which is often used to discriminate against women driving on the roads.

A few viewers commented, “She tried to help, but it was just for the camera” and “women should not drive”.

However, opinions were divided on who was at fault. Some users blamed the pedestrian for walking in the middle of the road while many criticized the scooter rider for not stopping to assist after the accident.

“Wasn't that person walking in the middle of road?” and “The lady is not at fault” came out in defence of the woman rider as the clip also highlighted how the pedestrian was walking on the road despite an empty footpath right beside.
