The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 for 543 constituencies that commenced on April 19 recently concluded with the counting of votes on June 4. The BJP-led NDA won 292 seats and prevailed over the INDI Alliance which bagged 232 seats. The world’s largest democracy is now set to have a coalition government with Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) and Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) being part of the NDA.

Nitish Kumar, who has a history of switching alliances, returned to NDA. Interestingly, it was Nitish who created the draft of the I.N.D.I.A bloc and was instrumental in bringing different opposition parties under one umbrella.
