Pakistani anchor Farwa Waheed
Social media has become a battleground for netizens on both sides as tensions rise between India and Pakistan following India’s recently launched ‘Operation Sindoor’—a retaliatory military move after the tragic killing of 26 tourists in Pahalgam by four terrorists.
Indian users have been flooding online platforms with criticism against Pakistan, slamming the neighbouring country for harbouring terrorism. Netizens are warning that the operation should serve as a warning.
Amid this digital crossfire, a video of Pakistani news anchor Farwa Waheed crying on-air has gone viral. Farwa Waheed is a prominent Pakistani journalist and television news anchor, celebrated for her dynamic presence in traditional and digital media.
My dear coward Indian propagandists.. stop fooling your janta .. this is an old video which was for Palestinians..

if you really wanna see who’s crying ?? Plz check your lok kalyan/panchavati. https://t.co/kaMmTo8htM
The footage shows Waheed visibly emotional, bursting into tears during a live broadcast, which has been widely shared with sarcastic captions and memes.
“Pighalana nahin hai doston” shared a user.
Likewise, another user shared, “World Bank has issued more than 1 crore VICTIM CARDS to Pakistanis just a while back,” shared another user.
“News channel walo ko over acting ki Rs 50 rupay kaat na chahiye,” shared another user.
However, the viral clip has no connection to the recent military operation or the events in Pahalgam. The video is over a year old and shows Farwa Waheed breaking down while reporting on the deaths of Palestinian children in Israeli airstrikes.
Beyond her anchoring roles, Farwa is an active social media influencer with a substantial following on TikTok and Instagram. She rose to fame in 2022 when she co-hosted the 'Najam Sethi Show' on 24 News, earning acclaim for her insightful analysis and engaging interviews.
Later that year, she joined Express News to lead the prime-time current affairs program '#Siyasat,' which significantly boosted the channel's ratings. After a successful tenure, she transitioned to Aik News in early 2024, where she currently hosts 'Aik Page with Farwa Waheed'.
