Lucknow bride in Banarasi bikini at wedding! Know the truth about the viral pic
Indians are very much particular about their wedding outfits because of its immense cultural significance. However, with the modernisation, things have altered and people are opting for fusion. But recently a photo of an Indian woman exchanging 'varmala' (garland) with the groom on the wedding mandap has left netizens shocked.
In the picture, the Indian bride is seen wearing a yellow Banarasi bikini with a veil while carrying out the wedding ritual. Moreover, apart from the outfit, she is seen adorned with jewellery and has decorated her hands with Mehndi. Meanwhile, the groom is seen in a matching sherwani. Both are seen holding garlands.
The photo of the Indian bride spread like wildfire on social media. It is claimed that the Lucknow bride defied stereotypes by choosing the 'yellow Banarasi bikini' for her wedding day.
The text on the viral picture reads, “Lucknow bride breaks stereotype by wearing Banarasi bikini in marriage ceremony. Internet split in two halves." (sic)

Soon after the picture surfaced, it left the internet in splits. While many users slammed the bride for such a step blaming her for tarnishing Indian culture, a few others took it in a funny way. Meanwhile, a few other claimed that the image is morphed and AI-generated.
Well, a report by News18 clarified that the image is AI-generated and not a real photo of the bride. After the photo went viral on social media, News 18 conducted a reverse image search on the picture which directed to the original post on Reddit where it was shared with a caption reading, "Marriage season." (sic) The image was shared by “DesiAdultfusion" community having an “NSFW" tag which indicates that it is explicit and suitable only for those above the age of 18.
Furthermore, the description of the Reddit page specifies that it posts AI-generated artwork.
The page's description reads, "DesiAdultfusion is a subreddit dedicated to showcasing AI-generated artwork related to desi culture. From traditional to contemporary, our community welcomes all forms of desi-inspired art created using artificial intelligence. Share your unique creations and explore the work of others who share your passion for all things desi." (sic)
Furthermore, a deepfake detection tool 'TrueMedia.org' confirmed that the image was AI-generated.
