An 8-year-old school student from Karur in Tamil Nadu has become an overnight sensation after donating his 10-month savings to the Indian Army.
The Class 2 student, driven by stories of soldiers’ sacrifices amid India’s successful ‘Operation Sindoor,’ saved pocket money and family contributions in a water tank-shaped piggy bank, before deciding to donate it all to the brave soldiers, stated reports on X.
Videos featuring him went viral on social media. In one of them, he stated that he was inspired by the Army’s valour, and donated his funds collected over ten months.

Accompanied by his parents, he headed to the Karur District Collector’s office, where he personally handed over his savings. While the exact amount remains undisclosed, officials praised the gesture as a profound expression of respect.
Moreover, the Collector lauded the child’s selflessness, emphasising the emotional weight of his actions over monetary value.
