Kanpur: A truck driver and helper were allegedly killed and goods they were transporting looted by unidentified persons in Naubasta area here, police said today.
The bodies of the brutally murdered truck driver Rajesh Pal (25) and helper Zakir (22) were discovered by the authorities a few meters away from the abandoned vehicle, they said.
Investigating further, the authorities zeroed in on a transport agency at Bhognipur where the owner informed that the two victims on Saturday left from Jalaun to transport the goods, police said.
A tractor was also seized which was parked near the truck, they said. People close to the deceased victims have been detained and are being questioned, police said. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and their families have bee notified, police said.
