There are several movies in romantic genres that win the hearts of movie lovers and those emerge as blockbusters. One such movie is Vivah, starring Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao in the lead. As in the movie, Shahid married Amrita in the hospital where the latter was undergoing treatment for burn injuries that she suffered on her marriage date.

Under similar circumstances, a groom reached the hospital to marry the bride, who was undergoing treatment after she was taken ill.

Such a surprising wedding took place in Chhattisgarh’s Janjgir-Champa district. 

As per reports, the daughter of Agardas Mahant and Munni Bai, residents of Baijalpur district, Rashmi alias Laxmi (bride)’s marriage was fixed with Raj alias Bunty, son of  Sukalu Das and Kaushalya Devi, residents of Parsadiha in Shakti district. The pre-wedding rituals began on April 14.

Both the families of the groom and bride were quite excited about the wedding, and relatives from both sides were invited to the event. 

However, a few days back, Rashmi experienced pain in her stomach and she was rushed to a private hospital. Upon diagnosis, it was found that the bride had a hole in her large intestine. The doctors instructed immediate treatment as it could lead to more serious issues. 

When informed, the groom’s family gave priority to the treatment of Rashmi. On the other hand, they also decided to conduct the marriage on the prior fixed date only as a delay in the wedding could have triggered certain issues for both families. 

Just five days before the wedding date, Rashmi underwent an operation and her health condition witnessed improvement. 

The groom arrived with baarati’s at the private hospital where the bride was admitted. The groom arrived at the right time set to be auspicious. Following the rituals, the duo exchanged wedding vows in the presence of doctors, hospital staff and other patients. Moreover, the 'vidai' rituals were also done at the hospital.

As informed by the relatives of the groom, the financial conditions of both families are not good. Under such circumstances, it was not possible to postpone the marriage date as already they had spent a lot and relatives had already arrived for the wedding. On the other hand, relatives of the bride stated that the budget for marriage was spent on the treatment of the girl with the support of the groom’s family.
