a child prodigy, who earned PhD at 21 became professor at IIT at 22, now unemployed
Once known as a child prodigy, Tathagat Avatar Tulsi, who earned his PhD at the age of 21 and secured the position of an assistant professor at the prestigious IIT Mumbai, is now dealing with unemployment. Though sounds surprising, Tathagat Avatar Tulsi, a well-known physicist, despite his remarkable academic journey was terminated from his employment abruptly.
As per reports, Tulsi, born on September 9, 1987, in Bihar, was a brilliant student from a very young age. At the age of nine, he completed his schooling and went to Parna Science College where he earned a BSc degree at the age of 11. At the age of 12, he completed his MSc from the same college and later pursued a PhD at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru (then Bangalore) at the age of 21.
Soon after completing his PhD, he wrote a thesis on the topic 'Generalizations of the Quantum Search Algorithm.' Moreover, he also worked with Lov Grover on a research paper termed 'A New Algorithm for Fixed-point Quantum Search.' However, it was never published.
In 2010, Tulsi secured the position of Assistant Professor at the IIT Mumbai. His professional life was running smoothly until 2019. However, it hit a turbulence and his employment was abruptly terminated.
As claimed by Tulsi, he was terminated from his employment after he remained on medical leave for an extended period.
He first encountered health issues in 2011. Initially, it seemed to be a fierce fever. However, it turned out to be an unexpected allergy. This led to a four-year sabbatical from his cherished role at IIT Mumbai. In 2019, Tulsi was officially released from his duties.
Now, after becoming unemployed, he has decided to carve a new path and is immersed in the world of law.
