Every person has a dream and aspiration about their ideal career path. However, certain challenges in life and situations hinder people from pursuing their dream career path. Meanwhile, there are a few individuals who fight back against all odds to fulfil their dreams and pursue a career of their choice. But, here we bring the story of an Odisha man who has proved that it's never too late to pursue what you truly desire.

This is the story of Jay Kishore Pradhan, a retired employee of the State Bank of India (SBI). He broke the stereotype and at the age of 64, he successfully cleared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) in 2020.

Pradhan, hailing from Odisha, retired as a Deputy Manager from SBI. Generally, after retirement people slow down and love to spend time with their family. However, instead of slowing down, Pradhan chose to follow his long-time aspiration. He embarked on a journey to achieve his dreams of entering the medical field. With high determination, he took a systematic approach to prepare for NEET while balancing his academic ambitions and familial responsibilities.

He enrolled in an online coaching programme for structured guidance through the complex curriculum. He navigated the challenges during preparation with his dedication and resilience.

Though Pradhan faced obstacles during his preparations, including family life pressures and demands for studying for a highly competitive exam, he remained focused on his goals. His unwavering dedication to the medical entrance exam kept him motivated.

In 2020, Pradhan's hard work paid off and he cracked NEET. With this exemplary achievement, he earned a seat at the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR).
