Parents always want their children to achieve success in life and they try to do more than what they can do for them- be it raising them or providing them comfort.
Parents work hard to give all the luxuries even if they have to remain on empty stomach. And when their children achieve something big in life, they are the happiest people in the whole world, celebrating their children’s success as if it were their own success.
So, it is the responsibility of the children to give their parents moments of happiness so that they can realise that their hard works finally paid off.
This is what an IFS officer did when he took his parents to show his office for the first time. 2017-batch IFS officer Jagdish S. Bakan, who is currently the Wildlife Warden and DFO in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, made his parents proud as he took them to show his office.
Sharing a photo from their visit on his Twitter handle, Bakan wrote, “Though they (my father and mother) could not go to school, they ensured my schooling. Despite being a small farmer, they ensured that I could make it to 1st Engineer, 1st PSU job holder & 1st to clear UPSC from our village. They visited my office for the first time.”
In the photo, Bakan is seen standing with his parents inside his office. They were all smiles as they posed for the pic. They were proud of their son’s achievement.
After Bakan shared the photo, it went viral on social media. The photo was shared by many bureaucrats praising Bakan for not forgetting his parents in his success.
Notably, Jagdish Bakan is a resident of a small village situated in a remote area of Parbhani district in Maharashtra. His father is a small farmer and his mother is a homemaker. After completing his schooling, he studied engineering at the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) in Mumbai.
Bakan was the first from his village to become an engineer, following which he joined Hindustan Petroleum as his financial condition was not good and his father had taken a loan for his study.
However, he started preparing for the tough UPSC exam along with his job. He didn’t join any coaching institute and only did self-study. He joined a municipality government library and studied there.
His hard work paid off and he was able to clear the civil services exam in 2016.
