Dhenkanal: Three persons were killed and five others injured today after hailstorm and lightning struck Orissa`s Dhenkanal District, police said.
Two out of seven Kendu leaf workers, who were working when a godown wall under Ranjagola Kendu leaf forest range, 25 km from here, collapsed due to strong winds accompanied by heavy rains.
The victims are identified as Alaekha Nayak and Sudarshan Nayak, police said adding that the injured are being treated at the Dhenkanal district headquarter hospital here.
In another incident, one person was killed when lightning struck. The victim is yet to be identified, police said.
