WhatsApp’s new feature: Use same account on up to four phones

The latest update now enables users to link up to four devices with the same WhatsApp account.

This is particularly useful for individuals who use multiple phones and desire to access the same WhatsApp account on all of them.

How to use the new feature:

The ability to link up to four devices with the same account is currently being rolled out worldwide to WhatsApp users and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.

To access this feature, instead of logging in as usual during the setup process by entering your phone number, you can now tap on the "link to existing account" option.

Once you have selected the "link to existing account" option, a QR code will appear, which can be scanned by your primary phone through the "link a device" option in settings.

This will log you into the second phone and allow you to use your WhatsApp account on it.

Benefits of using same account on multiple phones:

The new update includes message synchronization across different devices for up to a year.

This means that if one phone is turned off, you can still access your messages on other phones since each phone connects individually.

All chats, media, and calls are end-to-end encrypted on every device, ensuring the security and privacy of your conversations.

This feature is particularly useful for small businesses, as it allows multiple employees to send and receive messages from the same business number on different phones.

Automatic log-out feature:

In case your primary device remains inactive for an extended period, WhatsApp will automatically log you out of all the linked devices.

This is done to ensure the security of your account and prevent unauthorised access if you forget to log out from a device.

However, you can log back in using the QR code mentioned above.
