Recently, Chinese tech company Xiaomi launched the Mi Band 8, its latest smart band.

The fitness wearable comes with a range of upgrades over its predecessor, including improvements to specifications, design changes, and additional features.

The new Smart Band is being marketed as a fashion-forward fitness tracker, with up to 150+ training modes and a smart health assistant.

Display:

The Mi Band 8 comes with a 1.62-inch AMOLED display, with a resolution of 192 x 490 pixels, a pixel density of 326 ppi, and a maximum brightness of 600nits.

The display is larger and brighter than its predecessor, providing a better viewing experience for users.

The Mi Band 8 also supports Always-on-Display mode, which displays the time and other important information at all times.

Design:

The Mi Band 8 retains its pill-shaped design, but with some minor upgrades for improved customization.

The new quick-release mechanism allows users to easily swap out the straps of the device, with several different band options available.

The fitness tracker capsule can also be worn as a pendant, or attached to the user's shoe with a running clip, to function as a running pod.

The device comes with a 5 ATM water resistance rating, making it suitable for swimming and other water activities.

Specifications:

The Mi Band 8 is compatible with Android 6.0 or iOS 12.0 and above. It has up to 150+ training modes, including indoor and outdoor activities, such as running, cycling, swimming, and yoga.

The device also features a smart health assistant, with SpO2 monitoring, heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, and menstrual cycle tracking.

Battery:

The Mi Band 8 is powered by a 190mAh battery unit, which provides a battery life of up to 16 days, and is charged using a magnetic charger

Price:

The Mi Band 8 is available in two colours, Light Gold and Bright Black, and in two variants, with and without NFC.

The starting price of the device is CNY 239 in India, approximately Rs. 2,800, while the NFC version is priced at CNY 299, approximately Rs. 3,600.
