At I/O 2023, Google launched its Pixel Fold - its first foldable smartphone - challenging established brands like Samsung in the foldable market.

The Pixel Fold has a book-style design and many foldable-specific features like built-in taskbar and tabletop mode.

Let's take a closer look at the comparison between two of the most popular foldable smartphones on the market: the Pixel Fold and Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold4.

Display

Both the Google Pixel Fold and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 have a 7.6-inch OLED display screen.

The resolution of the Pixel Fold is 2208 x 1840, 380ppi while the Samsung Fold's resolution is 2176 x 1812, 374ppi.

However, the refresh rate of both devices is the same, which is 120Hz.

Processor

The Google Pixel Fold is powered by the Google Tensor G2 processor while the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor.

The operating system of the Pixel Fold is Android 13 while the Z Fold4 has been updated to Android 13.

Both the Pixel Fold and the Z Fold4 have 12 GB of RAM.

The Pixel Fold comes with internal storage options of 256 GB and 512 GB while the Z Fold4 has the same storage options as the Pixel, but also has an additional variant with 1 TB of storage.

The Google Pixel Fold has a 4821 mAh battery while the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 has a 4400 mAh battery.

Camera

The Google Pixel Fold boasts a 48MP main camera, a 10.8MP ultrawide camera, and a 10.8MP telephoto camera, along with a 9.5MP cover and 8MP front camera.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 features a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera, along with a 10MP cover and 4MP front camera.

Price in India

The Google Pixel Fold is priced at approximately Rs 1,47,688 in India while the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4's price starts at Rs 1,54,998.
