After years of rumours, Google is ready to showcase its much-awaited Pixel Fold, the company's first foldable smartphone, at the upcoming Google IO event on May 10.

Alongside Pixel Fold, Google will also launch Pixel 7a and Google Pixel tablet, promising an exciting tech event.

Design and features:

According to a recent video released by the Made by Google Twitter handle, the Pixel Fold is set to be released in gold, with the possibility of additional color options being introduced at launch.

The device itself appears to have a bulky design and features the same horizontal camera bar on the back as the Pixel 7 Pro.

The camera setup includes cutouts for three lenses, which are likely to be wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto sensors.

The Pixel Fold's cover display has an interesting design feature, as it appears to be wider than the narrow cover display found on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.

The video also reveals that the Pixel Fold will feature two selfie cameras. One of these cameras is located on the cover display, while the other is positioned on the main screen

Specifications:

Although Google has not yet released official specifications for the Pixel Fold, leaks suggest that the device's cover display may have a 5.8-inch viewing area, while the main screen could be a larger 7.6-inch display.

Both screens are expected to feature a 120Hz refresh rate and support high-end technologies like HDR and HDR10+ for a sharper and more immersive viewing experience.

The Pixel Fold may be powered by the Google Tensor G2 SoC, which is also used in the Pixel 7 series.

Given that the device is made by Google, it is likely that the phone will run a tailored version of Android specifically designed for this form factor.

Price in India:

The price of the Pixel Fold has yet to be officially announced, it is expected to be revealed at the Google IO event.

However, one thing is certain: the Pixel Fold will not come cheap.

According to reports, the device is expected to cost over $1,700 (roughly Rs 1.40 lakh in Indian price).

Given that the Pixel Fold has been in development for quite some time, it will be interesting to see how the device performs in the market and how it stacks up against other foldable smartphones.
