Apple offers Rs 5000 compensation to iPhone 6, 7, SE users for device slowdown

In Apple devices, there was a decrease in performance, which led the company to offer compensation to iPhone users who claimed they were affected. 

According to a Silicon Valley report, Apple can now give money to people who were unhappy because their iPhones were intentionally made slower.

Tyson Redenbarger, a legal representative for these iPhone users, believes that each person might receive around 65 dollars, which is about Rs 5000 in Indian currency.

In 2016, Apple admitted that they intentionally slowed down older iPhones.

This led to some iPhone owners being dissatisfied and joining together to file a class-action lawsuit against Apple in 2018.

The affected iPhone models include iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 Plus.

Apple agreed to pay a sum of money in the range of 310 million dollar to 500 million dollar in the legal world.

Initially, those who complained might have received 25 dollar each.

However, two iPhone owners wanted more and rejected the initial offer.

Recently, they were told that Apple can now begin giving money to iPhone users who were unhappy.

If you had an iPhone 6, 7, or the first SE model, you might wonder if you will get money.

But if you did not ask for it before October 6, 2020, you cannot get it anymore.

The chance for money ended after that date. Basically, you needed to sign up on a website using your serial number.

The company made this website for users who had trouble with their iPhones and wanted to fix things.
