The long-awaited iPhone 16 series has finally arrived and is making waves in the tech world following the event at Apple Park.

After months of rumours and leaks, Apple has introduced its latest iPhone with a fresh design, improved cameras, and better performance.

Apple fans worldwide have been eagerly anticipating this release. Now that it is here, let’s explore the prices, features, and other exciting details of the iPhone 16 series.

Display and Design

Apple has launched the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, both featuring "aerospace-grade aluminium" and a new colour-infused back glass.

The iPhone 16 has a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Plus sports a 6.7-inch display. Both models have a 60Hz refresh rate and can reach up to 2000 nits of brightness, dimming to as low as 1 nit in dark environments.

The new Action Button is included in these models, allowing users to quickly access features like recording voice memos, identifying songs, or translating phrases.

It can also be customised with shortcuts or used for in-app functions, such as locking or unlocking a car via the FordPass app.

Performance

Both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are powered by the A18 chip, which is up to 30% faster than the previous iPhone 15, which used the A16 Bionic chip. The new chip is built using a 3nm process.

Camera

The iPhone 16 Plus features the same camera setup as the base iPhone 16, with a dual-camera system arranged vertically. The primary sensor is 48 megapixels with 2x in-sensor zoom, paired with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens as the secondary camera.

Battery

Apple has not revealed the exact battery capacity of the iPhone 16 Plus, but it claims the iPhone 16 Plus offers up to 27 hours of video playback and 100 hours of audio playback. The iPhone 16 comes with a 3,561mAh battery.

Price in Indian Market

The base model of the iPhone 16 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at USD 799 (approximately Rs 67,100). The iPhone 16 Plus starts at USD 899, which is around Rs 75,500.

Apple iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max

Apple has recently updated its Pro iPhone lineup with the new iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, bringing significant enhancements over the standard iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models.

These premium devices feature advanced designs, improved screens, and enhanced camera systems.

Display

The iPhone 16 Pro boasts a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max offers a larger 6.9-inch display. Both models are praised for their “thinnest borders on any Apple product” and are described as “by far our best iPhone displays ever.”

The devices come with titanium frames that are nearly half the weight of stainless steel and more scratch-resistant. They also provide vibrant colors and up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness, ensuring excellent visibility even in bright sunlight.

Additionally, the screens are protected by Apple’s Ceramic Shield and are rated IP68 for dust and water resistance.

Camera

In terms of camera capabilities, both the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max feature a 48MP wide-angle camera with an f/1.78 aperture and a special coating to reduce lens glare.

They also include a new 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture, improving upon last year’s 12MP sensor. The telephoto lens is now a 12MP 5x zoom camera with an f/2.8 aperture, a feature previously available only on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Both models support 4K video recording at up to 120fps, and the front-facing 12MP TrueDepth camera with an f/1.9 aperture is ideal for selfies and video calls.

Performance

Under the hood, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are powered by Apple’s latest A18 Pro chipset, which includes a 3nm processor and a 16-core Neural Engine designed to enhance AI performance.

Battery Life

Apple claims that the new iPhones offer a significant boost in battery life, although specific details about battery size or performance improvements have not been disclosed.

The iPhone 16 Pro is equipped with a 3577 mAh battery, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max features a larger 4676 mAh battery.

Features

This year’s Pro models introduce a new pressure-sensitive Capture Button for precise control over photo and video recording, building on the customisable Action Button first seen with the iPhone 15 Pro series.

They also maintain the USB Type-C port, which ensures compatibility with a wide range of accessories and supports fast charging.

The iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max are available in four stunning finishes: Black Titanium, Desert Titanium, Natural Titanium, and White Titanium.
