With all major telecom service providers like Jio and Airtel are all set to launch 5G services soon, popular mobile handset manufacturer Xiaomi has announced to rollout more budget-friendly 5G smartphones in India soon.

However, the Chinese major has expressed its inability to manufacture 5G smartphones under Rs 10,000 in India in the near future.

Speaking to a national media house, Xiaomi India President Muralikrishnan said the sale of 5G handsets between Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000 price bracket is likely to witness a surge in the festive season as the company is going to introduce several offers and give massive discounts.

While several brands including Realme have announced to launch 5G mobile handsets under Rs 10,000 soon, Xiaomi said it will take some time to manufacture 5G phones under the price segment.

Recently, Bharti Airtel CEO Gopal Vittal announced that the company is planning to launch 5G services within a month and by December, Airtel should have coverage in key metro cities.

The announcement came as Reliance Jio plans to roll out 5G services by Diwali, which falls on October 24.
