OnePlus recently launched OnePlus 11 while Samsung launched its Galaxy S23 line-up in the last month. While Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra sits on the top of the Android mountain and has no competitors so far (in Android) and with no major devices to come in the month of March, we probably have the first big Android flagship battle of this year. It is OnePlus 11 versus Samsung Galaxy S23. Samsung is a bigger name in Android while OnePlus is trying to make a comeback after woes of yesteryears. Let’s see who wins.

DESIGN

The Samsung Galaxy S23 looks exactly like its predecessor if we excuse some minor changes like lack of camera module and an extra mic. The OnePlus 11 has a circular camera module towards the left of the device in the rear. The iconic alert slider has also made a come-back with all other features same as its predecessor.

DISPLAY

Coming to display, bigger display is always preferred. OnePlus sports a massive 6.7” 2k super fluid AMOLED display with Dolby Vision while Galaxy S23 has a smaller display of 6.1 inches with Dynamic AMOLED. Both the devices have 120hz refresh rate. We’ll have to wait to see which device has a better display as Samsung has an upper hand at producing AMOLED panels. But by size OnePlus 11 is the real winner.

CAMERA

Both the devices have triple camera set-up in the rear. Galaxy S23 has 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide and 10MP telephoto lenses while OnePlus 11 has 50MP main camera, 48MP ultrawide and 32MP telephoto lenses. Galaxy S23 has 3x optical zoom while OnePlus 11 has 2x optical zoom. Galaxy S23 has a 12MP selfie sensor while OnePlus has a 16MP sensor. While camera performance is subjective, early reviews tell Samsung narrowly beats OnePlus.

Both devices are powered by the latest Snapdragon processor i.e Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. There isn’t much difference in their performance. Galaxy S23 has a 3,900 mAh battery which is nowhere near to the massive 5000 mAh battery in OnePlus 11. Also with OnePlus you get in-box charger and case which is missing in Samsung.

OnePlus 11 lacks wireless charging and is only IP64 rated while Galaxy S23 is IP68 rated.

Both phones run on Android 13 with their respective OS — One UI for the Galaxy S23 and OxygenOS for the OnePlus 11.
Given the pricing, OnePlus 11 offers better features for your money. It has a bigger display, faster charging speed, and a better battery. The camera is evenly contested.

The OnePlus 11 cost Rs 56,999 while Samsung Galaxy S23 costs rs 79,999 for the base variant of 8GB/128GB.
