The Uttar Pradesh Police made big progress in stopping cheating in government recruitment exams. The cops used advanced AI-based face recognition software and caught 87 people whom they suspected of cheating.
This achievement is important for keeping exams fair and honest.
The collaboration between the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC), the Special Task Force, and the local police made this achievement possible.
Arrest of Suspects
As reported by Press Trust of India (PTI), most suspects were caught in Lucknow, with as many as 11 arrests. Similarly, there were 12 arrests in the nearby districts of Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad, close to Delhi.
The arrested individuals included "solvers," who took exams for others fraudulently, and those who used unfair methods to pass the Village Development Officer recruitment test.
A senior police officer stated, "With the guidance of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the UPSSSC made extensive efforts to maintain the integrity of the exam. They closely monitored the exam at the UPSSSC level and live-streamed all activities happening at the exam centers."
According to the police, the highest number of suspects were apprehended in Lucknow (11), followed by Banda (10), Aligarh (8), Kanpur (8), Varanasi (8), Ghaziabad (7), Gorakhpur (6), Azamgarh (5), Gautam Buddh Nagar (5), Mirzapur (5), Agra (4), Jhansi (4), Basti (2), and one each in Bareilly, Meerut, Prayagraj, and Moradabad.
The police have taken appropriate legal action, including the filing of First Information Reports (FIRs), against the accused individuals in their respective districts.
