The personalised diamond-studded Champion ring given to Rohit Sharma
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) rewarded the Rohit Sharma-led T20 World Cup-winning team with personalised diamond-studded rings in a ceremony that took place during the Naman Awards 2025 in Mumbai on Friday.
The ‘Championship wings’ were presented to celebrate India winning the 2024 T20 World Cup in Barbados. The win over South Africa in Barbados marked the team’s first major ICC triumph since the 2013 Champions Trophy.
As such, each member of the winning squad received a custom ring featuring their name, jersey number, and an Ashok Chakra on top. Further, these rings also displayed the team’s win margins throughout the tournament, in which India remained undefeated.
The details of the ring and its intricate design were shared by the BCCI on its X (formerly Twitter) handle. “Diamonds may be forever, but this win is immortalized in a billion hearts,” the text accompanying it read.

The 2024 T20 World Cup win by India was dramatic in every way. The final match had nearly turned towards South Africa needing only 30 runs off 30 balls before Rohit Sharma’s team took the tide to their side.

Notably, the high-octane match and its win also saw both captain Rohit Sharma and star batter Virat Kohli announce their retirements from T20I cricket, with Ravindra Jadeja following suit a day later.
During the ring-presenting ceremony, nine members of Team India’s World Cup-winning squad were present at the event. Veteran players including Kohli, are currently a part of Team India’s squad against England for 3 One-Day Internationals (ODIs).
Following their win at Nagpur, the team members reached Odisha on Saturday, where they will play the second match in the series at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.
