Barabati Stadium hosts an ODI after six years as India faces England. Odisha Cricket Association has set up strict security and crowd management measures, listing prohibited and allowed items for spectators.

Barabati Stadium is hosting an ODI match after a gap of six years. The last ODI played at this venue was in 2019- a T20I match against South Africa taking place in June 2022.

Today’s India-England ODI marks a significant event for cricket enthusiasts across Odisha. While newer venues with modern facilities have emerged across India, Barabati Stadium continues to hold a special place in Indian cricket, with this match rekindling its prominence on the international cricket calendar.

Match Day Preparations and Crowd Management

The Odisha Cricket Association has made extensive preparations for the ODI match, expecting a crowd of over 40,000 spectators. To manage the influx of fans, designated parking areas have been established around the stadium. Vehicles can be parked at Baliyatra Ground, Kanika Chhakk, Biju Patnaik Chhak, and Anand Bhawan Ground.

Two-wheeler parking is available at Chandi Chhak and Kala Bikash Kendra Ground. Pass holders have access to specific parking areas near Gate No. 14 and Bamboo Gada. The city of Cuttack has been decorated with banners and lights, creating a festive atmosphere for the cricket event

Here’s a list of items that are prohibited inside the stadium:

1. Spectators are prohibited from bringing various items into the venue, including food, drinks, water bottles, binoculars, flags attached to sticks, radios, and digital cameras.

2. Intoxicants such as alcohol, gutkha, cigarettes, or pan masala are also prohibited.

3. Additionally, items that could be used as projectiles, such as coins, knives, lighters, matchboxes, and helmets, are not allowed. 

4. To ensure a smooth entry, fans are advised only to bring only their mobile phones, valid tickets or passes, and a form of identification.

Necessary Arrangements:

To accommodate spectators' needs, food and drinking water will be available for purchase within all galleries and pavilions of Barabati Stadium. The venue has provisions for differently-abled persons, including special seating areas, though it's recommended that stadium authorities contact them in advance for specific accessibility information.

For families attending with young children, baby formula, associated bottles, diapers, and infant care products are permitted. However, prams and strollers must be checked at designated areas. Umbrellas are allowed but should not be raised if they obstruct other spectators' views.
