Virat Kohli is likely to announce his Test retirement soon

Team India star batsman Virat Kohli has reportedly made up his mind to quit Test cricket. Though BCCI tried to convince the prolific batter to reconsider his decision, it has been learnt that Kohli has been firm and he is likely to announce his retirement from the longest format of the game soon.

As per sources, if Kohli announces his retirement from Test, promising batter Shreyas Iyer may be the automatic choice for BCCI in red ball cricket.

Shreyas Iyer is not a surefire selection. He is currently not in the scheme of things of the selectors for India A or India squads. But there is a chance that preference or non-preference may change depending on whether Virat Kohli relents and agrees to be part of the squad.
