Dubai Para Badminton: Odisha players win 2 bronze medals
Odisha continues to shine on the global para sports stage as its athletes brought home two bronze medals from the prestigious Dubai Para Badminton International Level 2 Tournament 2025, held from May 6 to May 11, 2025, in Dubai, UAE.
Odisha’s para shuttlers showcased resilience, talent, and international-level competitiveness, bringing pride to the state.
1. Deep Ranjan Bisoyee (India) partnering with Oksana Kozyna (Ukraine)
Event: Mixed Doubles SL3-SU5 – Bronze Medal
The Indo-Ukrainian pair advanced to the semifinals after a strong win over Muhammad Hashraf Muazzam and Binti Mat Lawani of Indonesia. Despite a valiant effort, they were defeated by India’s Chirag Baretha and Mandeep Kaur with scores of 21-10, 21-05, securing a bronze medal for their campaign.
2. Subhrajeet Maharana (India) partnering with Bittu Kumar (India)
Event: Men’s Doubles SL3-SL4 – Bronze Medal

The duo displayed excellent coordination, defeating Mustafa Tugra Nur and Fuat Suraklu of Turkey with scores of 21-17, 21-16 to reach the semifinals. They were narrowly edged out by Korea’s Joo Dong Jae and Shin Khung Huan, falling 21-17, 21-11, and earned the bronze.
