Sarfaraz Khan
Middle-order batter Sarfaraz Khan has been snubbed from the 18-member Indian squad announced by the selection committee led by the chief selector Ajit Agarkar for the Test series against England.
Though Sarfaraz was part of the Indian squad for the Border Gavaskar Test series against Australia, he is one of the notable omissions.
In a bid to boost his fitness ahead of the England series, Sarfaraz put in lots of effort. The diminutive batsman lost 10 kilograms by following a disciplined diet focused on boiled vegetables and chicken.
Despite Sarfaraz's commitment, the selectors have picked Sai Sudharsan and Karun Nair for the highly anticipated England tour.
Without specifically naming Sarfaraz, Agarkar mentioned in the presser that some players were left out of the squad. He further said that only 18 spots were available and several players missed selection.
"We can't pick 50 players now, so naturally when you have to pick 18 players, some players will be missing out," said Agarkar.
In response, several fans have expressed their concerns about Sarfaraz's snub from the Indian team.

"Pretty interesting that how Sarfaraz Khan has gone out of the scheme of things in such a short time. Played a few good knocks against England in his debut series, and then that 150 vs NZ, and a few low scoring knocks and he just goes out of the setup," wrote another fan.
"No Sarfaraz Khan again injustice with him," tweeted a third user.
