Sai Sudharsan
On the basis of his consistent form in the domestic cricket and IPL, Sai Sudharsan could be rewarded a place in the Indian team for the upcoming Test series against England.
As per reports published in some section of media, the Tamil Nadu left-hander is being considered as a backup opener for the upcoming five-match Test series against England after the completion of IPL 2025. veteran batsman Rohit Sharma and soutpaw Yashasvi Jaiswal are likely to continue at the top of the order.
Though Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal are likely to be retained as the first-choice opening pair, as per sources, Sudharsan is emerging as the frontrunner to be their backup. Sudharsan has garnered a total of 304 runs at an average of 76 in the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy, including a marathon innings of 213 against Delhi.
Sudharsan has been in brilliant form in the ongoing IPL 2025 — garnering a total of 504 runs in just 10 matches for Gujarat Titans (GT). He is currently ahead of many batters in the Orange Cap race. In fact, Sudharsan has been a cheat code in the IPL.

Sudharsan has also played county cricket for Surrey, gaining vital experience in English conditions. He scored a ton for India A against Australia A in an unofficial Test.
As Rohit Sharma is currently going through a horrible form, it won’t be a surprise if Sudharsan also makes his debut in the whites for Team India.
