Mitch Owen
Fastest Big Bash League (BBL) centurion Australian Mitch Owen has been drafted by Punjab Kings (PBKS) in place of injured Glenn Maxwell for the remainder of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
PBKS confirmed in a statement that Owen will be replacing Maxwell for the remainder of the season at a price of Rs 3 crore.
All-rounder Owen earned fame in BBL by helping Hobart Hurricanes to win the BBL14 title with a blistering century in the title clash. Owen scored 108 off just 42 deliveries with the help of 11 sixes. Riding on his knock, Hurricanes chase down 183 in just 14.1 overs.
Owen also finished the season as the top-scorer in the tournament, by garnering a total of 452 runs. In his T20 career so far, Owen has scored 646 runs at a strike-rate of 184 in 34 matches.

Owen is currently plying his trade in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for the Peshawar Zalmi. He has so far scored 101 runs in six innings at a strike-rate touching 200 in PSL 2025 so far.
Notably, Maxwell had a quiet IPL season this year. Eventually, he was out of IPL 2025 due to a fractured finger. He could manage to score only 48 runs in seven matches at a strike-rate of less than run-a-ball in IPL 2025.
