Morocco out-thought and out-fought Portugal to become the first-ever African country to reach the semi-finals at the FIFA World Cup 2022. The 1-0 victory extended Morocco’s dream run in the FIFA World Cup, thanks to the towering headed goal from Youssef En-Nesyri.
Now, a video of football legend Cristiano Ronaldo crying inconsolably after Portugal’s exit from the FIFA World Cup in Qatar is going viral. The Portugal legend could not control his tears after his team was shocked 1-0 by Morocco in the quarter-finals.
Ronaldo was seen crying as he made his way out of the ground. A fan shared the video on Twitter and wrote, “It hurts me to see Ronaldo like this man (with a broken heart emoji).”
After being shared on Twitter, the tweet has received 52K likes and 8,919 retweets and 3179 quote tweets. Thousands of social media users are flooding the comments section with messages for the football legend.
A user wrote, “The way the media has treated Ronaldo recently has been nothing but disgusting. They all talk about mental health being important but attack players like they aren’t humans with real feelings. BE BETTER.”

Ronaldo, who came on as a substitute early in the second half, and his team tried hard but Morocco managed to score a goal after Youssef’s scored in the dying minutes of the first half. Cristiano came off the bench six minutes after the break, but was unable to help his team avoid the defeat.
Meanwhile, Morocco has sealed a semi-final showdown with France. The match is scheduled to be played on December 15 (Thursday).
