Rajasthan Royals' ambitions of advancing to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Playoffs suffered a significant blow after they were narrowly defeated by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Led by Riyan Parag, the Royals found themselves on the edge of success but eventually fell short by 11 runs in their pursuit of RCB's target. This marks their third consecutive loss, squandering potential victory yet again.
The defeat against RCB is the second this season, adding a bleak seventh defeat out of nine matches to their record and leaving the team perilously close to exiting this year's competition. This losing streak is the longest for the Royals since the 2009-10 seasons.
While Rajasthan Royals are not yet mathematically out of the playoff race, their chances are swiftly diminishing. To stay in contention, they must secure victories in all five remaining fixtures. Even with a potential 14-point finish, the competition remains fierce with at least six other teams aiming for a playoff spot.

Gujarat Titans, RCB, and Delhi Capitals each require just two wins to surpass the 14-point mark, whereas Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, and Lucknow Super Giants each need three more wins.
Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders must secure four victories from their remaining eight games to reach a total of 16 points, further tightening the scenario for the Royals.
