Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar and Australian batting star Aaron Finch have expressed their views on the inclusion of Punjab Kings (PBKS) opener Priyansh Arya in India's Twenty20 International (T20I) squad. Despite his promising performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, both experts advocate for more experience before a national call-up.

"This is Priyansh Arya's debut season, and ideally, he should continue to play at this level to hone his craft before stepping onto the international circuit," Bangar commented. He also pointed out that even promising talents such as Sai Sudharsan and Abhishek Sharma are yet to gain a firm footing in the Indian T20I side. Stressing domestic performance, Bangar added, "Returning to domestic cricket to score in first-class matches is crucial for development."

No Unnecessary Pressure

Aaron Finch seconded Bangar's opinion, advising against overwhelming Priyansh with expectations. "In situations like these, it's vital not to burden a young player with too much expectation," Finch shared. He mentioned that many cricketers face challenges after initial success due to increased scrutiny and expectations. Finch proposed that Priyansh's advancement should be organic, driven by consistently outstanding performances. "If it is meant to be, it will develop organically over time," Finch concluded.

While Arya's future looks bright, the path to joining the national squad demands patience and continued hard work.
