After a long wait, emerging batsman Sarfaraz Khan has started his Test career on a positive note. He hit two back-to-back fifties in the recently-concluded third Test against England in Rajkot.
Meanwhile, former West Indies pacer Ian Bishop has made a bold remark on Sarfaraz’s fledgling career. Bishop wrote about Sarfaraz’s weakness that could hamper his progress in international cricket. However, he also expressed his happiness that the Mumbai-based batter was finally given a chance to play for the country.
“Irrespective of what else happens in Sarfraz Khan’s international career (even if he is susceptible to pace and bounce outside India, as some say), I love the fact that he’s been finally rewarded for his brilliant domestic form. It was the right thing to do,” Bishop wrote on X (earlier known as Twitter).
Notably, before the start of the match, there were emotional scenes on the field with Sarfaraz’s father, Naushad, and the batter’s wife crying on the field after seeing his dream come true. He has been making runs in the Ranji Trophy for the last three seasons. However, he was considered by the selectors too late.
