Virat Kohli
After struggling with his poor form for a long time, star batsman Virat Kohli (52, 55b, 7x4, 1x6) finally returned to form after scoring a half century against England in the third ODI at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
In response, former India great Sunil Gavaskar compared him with two tennis legends, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.
“Even if Virat Kohli scores 80 runs, people will still consider it a failure as they are used to seeing him scoring hundreds. He has been consistent across formats. They will question his performances,” said Gavaskar.
“It is like Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer losing in the quarter-finals of the Grand Slams or the finals,” he further said.
“Kohli spending time at the crease is good for the Indian team as it will boost his confidence for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. With India set to face Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand in the tournament, Virat’s role at the No. 3 slot becomes crucial,” he added.
Notably, India whitewashed the series against the visitors by winning it 3-0.

In reply, England were bowled out for 214 only in 34.2 overs.
