Team India captain Rohit Sharma is struggling to find his form in the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025. Despite having good starts, out of form Rohit has failed miserably to convert those starts into something substantial. He is tyrowing his wicket away at crucial junctures by trying to play big shots and as a result, India is struggling to get good starts.

Gavaskar's advice

In response, legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has urged Rohit to adopt a more measured game plan.

"This is an approach Rohit has been following for the last two years or so. It started around the World Cup in India, and he has been sticking to that formula. He has had some success, though perhaps not as much as his talent should warrant," said Gavaskar.

“Mixing aggression with discretion—could amplify Rohit’s impact. If he bats for even 25 overs, India will be around 180-200. Imagine if they have lost only a couple of wickets by then; just think what they could do—they could reach 350 or more," the former India great added.

Notably, several fans and experts have been slamming Rohit for his poor form. Even speculation is rife that Rohit will announce his retirement from international cricket after the conclusion of the champions Trophy.
