Mohammed Shami
Team India is playing in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in absence of it's premier speedster Jasprit Bumrah. As a result, veteran bowler Mohammed Shami is leading the pace attack of the Indian team.
In absence of experienced pacers in the ranks of Men in Blue, the onus is on Shami to deliver on crucial jumctures in an important ICC tournament. Under the circumstance, it is quite natural that Shami will have a huge responsibility and work load.
However, Shami has capitalised on the chances and has stepped up by taking eight wickets in the tournament so far.
"I am trying to get my rhythm back and contribute more for the team. It is a responsibility when there are no two proper fast bowlers and I have to shoulder more responsibility," said Shami during a recent interaction.

Shami also admitted that Bumrah’s absence has significantly heightened his workload and he has to take more responsibility as the most experienced bowler of the team.
"There is definitely load when you are the one main fast bowler and the other is an all-rounder. You have to pick wickets and lead from the front. I have become used to this load and am trying my best to make it easy for others and give more than 100 per cent," said Shami.
"The trust debate ends when you get selected in the team. I don’t think that one should worry about his fitness too much. We just need to put in the effort and see how your body takes it. I am now ready to bowl long spells," he added.
