Former great terms Rohit Sharma 'technically better' than Virat Kohli

PUBLISHED: LAST UPDATE:

Gibbs has ruffled the fans of Kohli by criticising the technique of the prolific batter.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma

Veteran Team India batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have recently announced their retirements from Test cricket. Fans and experts across the globe know that Rohit is an aggressive batter and Kohli is technically more sound.

However, Kohli's favourite cricketer and former South Africa great Herschelle Gibbs has a different view. Gibbs has ruffled the fans of Kohli by criticising the technique of the prolific batter.

According to Gibbs, Rohit has a far better technique than Kohli.

"Rohit was always more technically correct than Virat but Virat's desire to dominate especially in white ball format is a major difference between the two batters," said Gibbs while responding to a video on social media account X (earlier known as Twitter).

"You ever see Rohit defend balls on 4th or 5th stump? How many times did Virat get out doing just that ? Rohit definitely technically better than Virat," the former South Africa great added.

Notably, Rohit and Kohli, two stalwarts of India's batting unit for the last 15 years or so, retired from Test cricket in a span of five days, leaving a huge void in India's batting unit before the England tour. Both of them have also announced their retirement from T20Is earlier and they will only be available for ODIs now.
