ICC Champions Trophy 2025

Though the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be played in Pakistan, Team India will be playing all their matches in Dubai.

However, every ICC event has a customary captains’ meet where leaders of each side assemble for a photo shoot and then hold a press conference discussing their preparations and targets for the tournament.

Under the circumstances, reports were published in some sections of media that there is a strong possibility that the Indian captain or any other member will be present for the captains’ meet.

The PCB has made it clear that they won’t shift the captains’ meet to Dubai, where Team India plays all of their matches and the ICC is going to respect PCB’s decision.

Though the PCB has informed the ICC about said captains’ meet, the BCCI claims they haven’t been intimated. Neither Rohit Sharma nor any other member of Team India was required to travel to Pakistan.

“We haven’t got any such proposal. This hasn’t been part of our discussions with the ICC,” said BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia.

The development means that only seven teams will be present for the captains’ meeting expected to take place in either Lahore or Karachi, or it’ll be cancelled.
