After suspension of one week due to the tensions between India and Pakistan, IPL 2025 is all set to resume soon as the two nations recently agreed to the ceasefire.
However, most of the overseas players have headed back to their countries following the increase in escalations between India and Pakistan that led to drones, missiles, and firing attacks by Pakistan.
As per reports, IPL 2025 is all set to begin from May 16 or 17, if things go to plan. It has been learnt that BCCI is planning to keep more double-headers for the remaining 12 group league matches so that they make up for the lost time due to the suspension.
BCCI has informally told all the franchises to call back their foreign players by Tuesday. However, as per sources, several overseas players are against coming back to India for the second phase of the league due to international commitments and personal reasons as well.

As per sources, if the overseas players didn't agree to return, BCCI is unlikely to take any action against them as this is a force majeure.
A force majeure is a contractual clause that excuses individuals/parties from fulfilling their contracts in case of an extraordinary event that is beyond their control.
