All the three fencers from the State along with eight others across the country will get the opportunity to hone their skills further in the camp for the ensuing Wheelchair Fencing World Cup to be organised in Italy from November 18-21.

All the three players have been selected in the Indian World Cup squad on the basis of their solid performances in various national level competitions.

While Rao had grabbed as many as four medals in the National Wheelchair Fencing Championship last year, Rakhal and Pujaswani had own six individual medals each.

“We didn’t have much practice due to the Covid-19 induced situation in the State this year. The national camp will give us a good opportunity to hone our skills further by practising along with some great players of the country under the guidance of eminent coaches,” said Rakhal.

“We have some experienced and promising fencers in the team. We are confident to put up a good show in the mega tournament,” he added.
