A delegation of SP leaders led by party state president Akhilesh Yadav met Governor T V Rajeswar at the Raj Bhawan and requested him to dismiss the BSP government, which they alleged that the government acted in an inhuman way against peaceful SP protesters by beating them brutally.
"We will also be approaching NHRC against the policemen including DIG, Lucknow DK Thakur, who dragged party workers and hit them with his boots during the peaceful demonstration," Akhilesh told reporters after meeting the Governor.
The SP leader also claimed that even the party workers` families were also harassed by the police and administration.
The SP leader also gave an application to the DIG to lodge a report against the policemen for assaulting and misbehaving with him at Amausi airpot where he landed from Delhi on March 8.
His security man Brijbhan Singh also handed over an application with the DIG claiming that policemen misbehaved with him.
The party launched a three-day agitation on March 7 against the Mayawati government.
