After initial hiccups due to reports of EVM glitches, voting is currently underway in several booths of Kendrapara Parliamentary segment. Since early morning, on Saturday, voters queued up before polling booths to be a part of the biggest festival of the democracy.

BJP National Vice-President and party’s Kendrapara Lok Sabha candidate Baijayant Panda today appealed to voters to exercise their franchise in large numbers.

Panda, after offering prayers at Baldevjew Temple, visited several booths at Rajnagar and other places and interacted with the people and inquired about the poll management.

“The voting in this booth is going on smoothly. There were reports of some EVM issues and wherever anti-socials are coming, it is being reported and the Election Commission is taking action,” said Panda.

According to Panda, people should come forward and vote in large numbers. “Voting is not only your right but also your duty. Hence, people along with friends, family members and neighbours should come to exercise their franchise,” said Panda.

A voter said all arrangements are satisfactory and people are also coming forward despite humid conditions.

“It is a great feeling to cast our vote and be a part of the election process,” said a voter.
