BJD Jharsuguda MLA candidate Dipali Das had to face an embarrassing situation after angry villagers reportedly gheraoed her over alleged unfulfilled promises during 2019 elections. The aspiring BJD leader was on a campaign trail when the villagers strongly objected to her and demanded an answer for all the unfulfilled promises.

The irate villagers questioned her about all the development works she has done till now for the villagers. The whole incident captured on a mobile phone has now been going viral.

The incident occurred while the young MLA had been to Malibeunra village under Jharmunda panchayat of Kirmira block under Jharsuguda district. The incident spread outrage in the area as angry villagers denied her entry into the village.

Villagers narrated their ordeal and revealed that several promises made by late Naba Kishore Das, father of Dipali Das, were still pending with no one to take accountability. The situation was brought under control after Dipali assured that she would look into the matter and fulfill all the promises made by her father if she is elected.

“If you ask me to do all the work in just 6 months, how can I do it, is it possible? I understand, you all might have talked to my father, but unfortunately, he is not with us today. If he was alive today, he would have fulfilled his promises; if not all the promises, he would have tried to do as much as possible,” Dipali can be heard saying in the video.

“Out of three works, we have at least done two works. With all your blessings, I can become the MLA and do the remaining work. I was in the position only for six months; elect me and give me some time so that I can fulfill all the promises. If I’m unfit to fulfill the promises, you can question me,” she added.
