While highlighting the developmental initiatives of the Narendra Modi-led government BJP National President JP Nadda said this election is all about taking Odisha forward in the path of development.

While addressing the Vijay Sankalp Samavesh at Ambapua in Berhampur, JP Nadda said that the people of Odisha have been deprived of the development by the current dispensation and this government needs to be changed as soon as possible.

JP Nadda strikes a chord with people

Before delivering his speech, JP Nadda not only sought the blessings of Lord Jagannath but also mentioned the role of Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das and Krushna Chandra Gajapati in making Odisha a separate state, to strike a chord with the people who welcomed him with thunderous applauses.

Comparative picture of India’s politics

“How was the politics in India ten years ago? People had the mentality that nothing could change in this country. Things would go on like this. Politics would continue to be in the hands of corrupt politicians. India had such a mentality till Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister. Today the whole world is saying that India has changed and is on the path with the mission of ‘Viksit Bharat’,” he said.

“Earlier politics was being done on the basis of caste, religion and region. But Modiji has connected India’s politics with ‘vikasbaad’ and took the nation towards development. So the present day’s politics is the politics of report card, development, performance and accountability,” he added.

If someone has brought in these changes, it is none other than Modiji, he further said.

World’s fifth-largest economy

“Ten years ago, India was the 11th largest economy. But under Modiji’s leadership, India took a big leap, surpassed the UK that ruled us for 200 years and became the fifth largest economy,” he said.

Addressing the gathering, he said, “You vote all the MP candidates to power and Modiji will become the Prime Minister for the third term. And, India will become the third largest economy in the world.”

“India is at the second position in medicine manufacturing. India manufactures the cheapest and most effective medicines. Our exports have increased by 128 per cent. Similarly, in automobile manufacturing, India is in the third position, leaving behind Japan. Ten years ago, ‘Made in China’, ‘Made in Taiwan’, ‘Made in Korea’ and ‘Made in Japan’ were written on mobile phones. Now ‘Made In Bharat’ in written them.  This is the picture of the changing India which we should keep it n mind,” he said.

Swipe at BJD

“Modiji is giving Rs 5 lakh to 10.74 cr poor families of the nation for their treatment under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana’. But I am sorry to say that the families in Odisha are not among those families. Naveen Babu has kept them away from this yojana. Tell me, should such government continue?, he asked.

Outsider being introduced

Without naming BJD leader VK Pandian, he said, “Is there no Odia leader to lead Odisha? Do you allow an imported leader? The process is underway to bring an outsider. Be alert.”

Before leaving the dais, he made an appeal to the people to elect the BJP candidates who are in the fray.

JP Nadda arrived at Bhubaneswar airport, from where he flew to Rangeilunda in a special flight. JP Nadda was accorded a warm welcome at the Rangeilunda airstrip by the party's national vice president Baijayant Panda and the party's Odisha unit chief, Manmohan Samal among others.

From the airstrip JP Nadda proceeded to the Vijay Sankalp Samavesh venue in Ambapua in Berhampur, where he was received with a rousing welcome by party leaders and supporters.
