BJP National Vice-President and party’s Kendrapara Lok Sabha candidate, Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda on Wednesday said that the election atmosphere in villages is very much in favour of the BJP and the enthusiasm of the people can be seen from the crowd in the rally that spread for about two kms.

Baijayant Panda stepped up his campaigning in the Mahanga area and held a roadshow thronged by thousands of party workers and supporters on the way to Erakana.

He said that the people will give a befitting reply to the ruling party in the elections.

“Thousands of party workers and people joined the rally while we passed through villages. The people have enthusiasm for the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Such huge support indicates that they want to see Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister for the third time. They want a double-engine government in Odisha,” he added.

The BJP stalwart said, "In 2019, the BJP raised its tally from one to eight. We got 5 lakh votes in Kendrapara last time. In the last 10 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stature has grown exponentially at the international level. Because of his leadership, 25 lakh people in India have come out of poverty. This time, the enthusiasm of people for Modi ji is higher than 2019.”

He also asserted, "Now, the election atmosphere in villages is very much in favour of the BJP. When our central leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath will come, it will further strengthen support for the BJP.”

As for CM Naveen Patnaik’s allegations that the opposition parties are only maligning the BJD government, Baijayant Panda said, "In the upcoming elections, people will give a befitting reply to the ruling party. Women and children are facing violence and atrocities. Electricity produced in Odisha is being supplied to Tamil Nadu at a cheaper price than what is charged to the people of the state.”

He also observed that the people of Odisha have seen how the ruling party disgraced Lord Jagannath by hauling the idols in auto rickshaws while under the leadership of Modiji, the 'Pran Pratishta' of Ram Lalla was done in Ayodhya after 500 years of wait.

Baijayant Panda along with the party’s MLA candidate Sumanta Ghadei was accorded a warm welcome by people at various places during the 5-km-long roadshow.
