Odisha youths need jobs, not Rs 1 lakh loan: Youth Congress 

Citing issues like rising corruption and unemployment in Odisha, the youth wing of Congress said it will gherao Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik's residence, Naveen Niwas on March 1 as part of its ‘Naveen Hatao, Odisha Banchao ‘ programme.

Addressing a presser at Congress Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, the president of Odisha Youth Congress, Ranjit Patra informed about the upcoming agitation. He also released a logo of ‘Naveen Hatao, Odisha Bachao.' 

Patra said, “In the last 24 years, corruption and scams have been growing while the BJD government has been deceiving youths. The BJD government had promised to create 2 lakh jobs for youths every year, but in the last 24 years, it has failed to do so. It is very unfortunate.”

Taking a dig at the government, the youth Congress leader questioned, ”Where is the Biju Yuva Bahini now? The government spent crores of rupees to form the Biju Yuva Bahini before the 2019 elections.”

Patra further alleged that the government, keeping the upcoming elections in view, is providing Rs 1 lakh loan to youths under Swayam. Youths actually need jobs, not loans.” 

No reaction was received from the BJD.
